I’m ax,
From the moment I could talk I started singing, hence I started singing lessons when I was young. Now I’m older I’ve learned the right techniques to sing,
how to play the piano, how to write music myself and how to produce and mix it. For me music is one hundred percent emotion. Life is dynamic. Without silence, there wouldn’t be noise and
without the lows you wouldn’t be able to recognize the highs. That’s why music for me is the way to express what I feel and what I’m going through. Expressing this in songs helps me to
process my feelings. The very beautiful thing about expressing this in your music, is that all people recognize different parts of themselves or their stories in your music, which can
help people. For me that’s what it’s all about… To make people feel recognized, empowered and heard.
To me music also should support the freedom to be yourself. Because I’m not to be put in a box.
My music is full of contrast, experimental and alternative but in some weird kind of way also catchy.
Ik ben ax,
Vanaf het moment dat ik kon praten begon ik te zingen, vandaar dat ik op jonge leeftijd met zanglessen begon. Nu ik
ouder ben, heb ik de juiste technieken geleerd om te zingen, piano te spelen, zelf muziek te schrijven, te produceren en te mixen. Muziek is voor mij honderd procent emotie. Het leven is
dynamisch. Zonder stilte zou er geen lawaai zijn en zonder de lage tonen zou je de hoge tonen niet kunnen herkennen. Daarom is muziek voor mij de manier om uit te drukken wat ik voel en wat ik
doormaak. Dit uitdrukken in liedjes helpt me om mijn gevoelens te verwerken. Het mooie van dit tot uitdrukking brengen in je muziek, is dat alle mensen verschillende delen van zichzelf of hun
verhalen in je muziek herkennen, wat mensen kan helpen. Daar gaat het mij om… Mensen zich erkend, krachtig en gehoord laten voelen.
Voor mij moet muziek ook de vrijheid ondersteunen om jezelf te zijn, want ik laat me niet in een hokje
duwen.
Mijn muziek zit vol contrasten, is experimenteel en alternatief maar op een vreemde manier ook pakkend.
